Obituary For Allen J. Thomas

Allen J. Thomas, 68, Carrolltown passed away May 28, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 21, 1957 in Spangler the son of Francis and Rita (Miller) Thomas. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brother, Robert “Lemon” Thomas; and sister, Jean Daniels. He is survived by his children, Josh Thomas of Carrolltown and Leanne Thomas of Monroeville, PA; Significant other of 13 years, Brenda Farabaugh; Siblings, Eileen “weewee” Brown, Barbara Vermeluin, Russ Thomas, Diane Campbell, Bryan Thomas, Chris Thomas, and Tim Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. Allen was a graduate of Cambria Heights High School. He was a member of the umwa Local 2494 coal miners. Allen retired as a coal miner and from M&M Concrete. He was a member of the Carrolltown and Hastings fire club, Carrolltown Legion and Sons of Legion, St. Benedict Rembrandt Club, Bakerton Rod and Gun Club, Businessman’s Club, Sinnemahoning Sportsman's Club, and St. Benedict Catholic Church. Allen was an avid archery hunter and #1 Viking fan. He enjoyed Civil War history, fishing, and spending time at Camp Shiloh. Family and Friends will be received from 3-7pm Friday May 30, 2025 at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 146 N. Main st. Carrolltown, PA 15722,where a vigil for the deceased will be held. Additional visitation will be from 9am in the Boniface Wimmer Room until the 10am funeral mass Saturday May 31, 2025 at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Father Michael Gabler OSB celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery. Arrangements are in the direction of Stevens Funeral Homes, Inc. Carrolltown.
