Obituary For David Charles Owens

David Charles Owens, 76, of Loretto, PA passed away peacefully at his home on June 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Dave was born on May 14, 1950, the son of the late Thomas and Patricia (Short) in Carrolltown. He graduated from Cambria Heights High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves for 6 years. He was a member of the Basilica of St Michael’s, the Carrolltown Fire Club, and the American Legion.

Dave worked as a Lance Salesman for over 30 years and was the top salesman in the country for many years. After retiring from Lance, Dave went on to work at Atlantic Broadband for almost 20 years. He was the top salesman on the East Coast for most of his career.

Dave was a devoted son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, worrying about his kids and grandkids, going to the fire club with his mom and siblings, picking blueberries, and taking his grandchildren for rides on the tractor.

Dave was known for his kindness, sense of humor, strong work ethic, and willingness to help anyone in need.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Josie Owens, his children Steven (MaryBeth), Christine Butterbaugh (Kelly), Patricia Seymore (Justin); his grandchildren Chelsey Pfeffer (Zack), Nathan Butterbaugh (Bella), Nicole Nagle (Patrick), Faye, Justine, Tommy, Krista and Alyiah; his great-grandchildren: Jaxson, Jonah, Adeline, Owen and soon baby Josie; his siblings: Carol Woodworth, Ed (Donna), Liz Wolf, Winnie Shingle (Charlie), Paul (Doris), Mike and Joe.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his son John Paul, his brother-in-law Bob Woodworth, brother-in-law Roy Farabaugh Jr, mother-in-law Faye Farabaugh, and father-in-law Roy Farabaugh.

“A great father is more than a provider; he is a teacher, a role model, and a friend. His love is seen in the sacrifices he makes, the lessons he shares, and the unwavering support he offers. No matter how far his children travel in life, they always carry the strength of his love with them.”

Family and friends will be received from 4-7 pm, Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Stevens Funeral Homes, Inc., 146 Main Street, Carrolltown, PA 15722, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.
