Obituary For Dorothy Leslie

Dorothy “Louise” Leslie, almost 95 passed away December 24, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was born December 27, 1926, in Spangler, the daughter to Aaron and Laura (Moyer) Folmar. She was preceded in death by parents, loving husband Roy, who passed away March 14, 2000 and brothers and sisters, Inez (John) Lobick, Earl (Maria) Folmar, Vera (Art) Sherry, Betty (Mike) Dindios, Joseph (Ivy) Folmar, Mary (Laverne) Breakey and baby sister Ruth Folmar. Also preceded in death by son-in-law Ed Shutty and special sister-in-law Helen Cattoi. Survived by children Kay Shutty, Kennesaw, GA, Erin (John) Ivory, Loretto, George (Patty) Leslie, Ebensburg; grandchildren Brian (Michelle) Shutty, Erin Shutty, Dina (John) Taucher, Melinda (Jeff) Solomich, Amanda Ivory (friend Jordan). She started her career as a beautician and later retired from the school system as a cleaning lady. She was a member of the Bakerton United Methodist Church. “Granny Nanny” as we called her, was a wonderful homemaker and provided many things that we needed growing up. She learned to sew, knit, crochet and made clothes for many of us. She had many homemade recipes and made the best homemade bread and apple pies. Nanny loved spending time with the family, especially the grandkids. She also loved Dairy Queen blizzards, receiving packages from Boscov’s and attending family reunions and traveling with her partner in crime-Helen. Many thanks to Dr. Chris Paronish and staff, Resta, From the Heart, Home Nursing Agency, Family Hospice, Sharbaugh’s Pharmacy and special thanks to Deb and Chick Lamont (Golden Boy) for all the help throughout the years. At. Louise’s request, there will be no visitation or services. Interment at a later date by the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Carrolltown. Contributions may be made to the Bakerton United Methodist Church in her memory. You may leave online condolences at www.stevensfamilyfuneralhomes.com or on our Stevens Family Facebook page.
