Gretchen M. Kirsch

January 28, 1948-February 27, 2026

Gretchen M. Kirsch, 78, Nicktown, passed away Friday at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. She was born in Spangler, the daughter of the late Dr. Archibald W. and Julianna (Connolly) Fees.

Surviving are her four children: Sarah Luther (Nathan) of Clymer, Benjamin Kirsch (Tammy) and Martin A. Kirsch (Shelley) both of Nicktown and Justin Kirsch (Krysta) of Asheville, NC; eight grandchildren: Breanna, Chelsea, Martin, Kylie, Ashton, Sydney, Meghan and Rylie; three great-grandchildren: Cali, Haddi and Ivy; her sister, Julianna Kirsch (Kerry) of Winterset and many nieces and nephews.

Gretchen was preceded in death by her siblings: Connie Wychulis, Ann Marie Ranck and Dr. Archibald Fees, Jr.

She was a 1966 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School.

Gretchen was an animal lover of all kinds especially her dog, Sissy. She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandkids and great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 10-11 am, Saturday, April 25, 2026 in the Boniface Wimmer Room at St. Benedict Catholic Church, where a funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11 am with Fr. Michael Gabler, OSB.

Arrangements are provided by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Carrolltown.
