Obituary For Jean J. Lantzy

Jean J. Lantzy, 95, Carrolltown, passed away March 23,2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 4, 1928 in Spangler the daughter of Ligouri and Mary (Dillion) Lacey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Mary Lou Gray, James, Robert (Brother Pat), Caroline Vescovi, Sally Skirsky, Don and Bridget Lacey. She is survived by her loving husband Al Lantzy whom she met in 3rd grade and they were married for 70 years, children, Ken (Monica) Lantzy, St. Benedict; Janice (Jim) Kosto, Carrolltown; Mike (Patty) Lantzy, Greensburg; Bob (Marge) Lantzy, New Hope; Ann (Chris) Glazener, La Jolla, CA; Carol Wesner, Irvine, CA; Mary (Rob) Yahner, Nicktown; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother Tom Lacey and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean worked at the shirt factory and at the county Court House prior to marrying and becoming a stay at home mother. She later worked as a teacher’s aide. Jean was a dedicated mother who always put her family and faith first. She highly valued education and fulfilled her dream that all her children would attain a college degree. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, was an active golfer and was chair of the lady’s league at Cambrian Hills. Jean and Al enjoyed traveling all over the country and the world. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 146 N. Main St. Carrolltown were a vigil for the deceased will be held. Additional visitation will be held Wednesday in the Boniface Wimmer Room of St. Benedict Church, Carrolltown from 10 am until the 11 am funeral Mass at the church by Rev. Michael Gabler O.S.B. Interment, Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to St. Benedict Catholic School, Carrolltown. Jean’s family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Haley and Mary Jo, who helped care for Jean in her last years at home.
