After a long and courageous 7-year battle with cancer, Judy Marie Westover, 60, passed peacefully in her sleep at her home on Friday, December 5th. Judy was born on September 25, 1965 in Colver, to Thomas and Julia (Katchmer) Buck. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Bob and Thomas Jr. She is survived by her husband, Joe, her sons Bryan (Joy) and Scott, and her siblings Monica (James) Campbell and Daniel Buck. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Judy loved caring for others, and she spent much of her life doing just that. Cooking was her love language, and she was happiest when she was taking care of her family. She worked as a nurse’s aide in several nursing homes and later with Sheetz at the Claysburg campus. At home, she enjoyed arts and crafts and taking photos. Above all, she loved spending time with her dogs and her loved ones. Judy had a huge heart. She faced cancer with quiet strength and never complained, always putting others first. True to her wishes, she didn’t want a service or any fuss. The family is grateful for all the love and support. Instead of flowers, donations to a local animal shelter or Hillman Cancer Center would be a wonderful way to honor Judy and would have meant a lot to her.
