Obituary For Mary Ellen Bogus

Mary Ellen Bogus, 83, St. Benedict, passed away February 26, 2022 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born May 31, 1938, in Punxsutawney, the daughter of Irvin and Edna (Hippchen) Grube. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Wm. Bogus, whom she met at a Polka dance, and siblings Patricia Kellert, Charles Grube, and Connie Roush. She is survived by her children Bernard “Beno” (Joan) Bogus, Carrolltown, Marsha Cunningham, Hastings, Monica (Harry) Painter, St. Benedict, Shelly (Mary Beth) Bogus, Laurel, MD, Bill Bogus, Ebensburg, Maria (Matt) Fowler, Carrolltown. She looked forward to her daily visits by her youngest daughter Maria. Also survived by grandchildren Kristi (Mike) Trybus, Keith Bogus, Kevin (Meghan Quilliam) Cunningham, Mallory (Jeffrey) Shaffer, Lizzy (Justin Tenerowicz) Cunningham, Mandy (Rusty) Spangler, Rob Painter, Katie, Jared, and Luke Bogus, her granddogs Maddie, Mia, and Sydney, great grandchildren Taylor and Ally Trybus, Beau Quilliam, Lucy Cunningham, Payton, Everley, and Lake Shaffer, Kaylee and Connor Spangler, and numerous nieces and nephews and her special caregivers, “friends/family”, Jen and Justine. She was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School. She was the Co-Owner of Bernard Bogus Mink Ranch with her husband, where she lovingly was always by his side. She also worked with her daughter at her special nephews flower shop for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who loved fishing with her husband, loved playing bingo with her special friend Barb and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown and the Rembrandt Club. Friends will be received Wednesday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 146 N. Main St. Carrolltown, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. Additional viewing will be held in the Boniface Wimmer Room at St. Benedict Catholic Church on Thursday from 9 am until the 10 am funeral Mass at the church, by Rev. Michael Gabler, O.S.B.
