Obituary For Richard L. "Dick" Kirsch

Richard L. “Dick” Kirsch, 83, Nicktown passed away February 15, 2022 at Indiana Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 18, 1938 in Nicktown, the son of Leo and Dorothy (Kirsch) Kirsch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter Mary Louise; brothers Darrell, Warren, killed in Vietnam, Bruce and Mark Kirsch. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Marian L. (Buck) Kirsch; children: Bonnie (Mickey) Zatorsky, N. Cambria; Jane (Tony) Rematt, N. Cambria; Wanda (Jim) Brown, N. Cambria; Rick (Debbie) Kirsch, Nicktown; Gregg (Donna) Kirsch, Nicktown; Donna (Mark) Ludwig, N. Cambria; Marian (Floyd) Farabaugh, Ebensburg; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Joan Contorchick, Bakerton; Twila (Dave) Tocarchick, Richmond, VA; Gordon (Jean) Kirsch, Carrolltown; Wayne (Tammy) Kirsch, Cresson; Douglas Kirsch, Cresson and numerous nieces and nephews. Dick worked at Bethlehem Steel for eight years and retired from Kirsch Brothers Timber after thirty years of service. He was member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown. Dad was a loving husband and the best father. At Dick’s request, visitation will be private. Funeral Mass 10:00 am Saturday, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, by Rev. Michael Gabler, OSB. Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Nicktown. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials for masses. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Carrolltown.     Dick was a groomsman at my wedding to John Keith in Carrolltown St. Benedict Church in 1957. He was a very handsome addition to my wedding. My John passed away in 2006. My heart and prayers go out to the Family. Cousin Louise (Kirsch) Keith I live in Parma, Ohio lk1845@sbcglobalnet family

    Sorry about your loss . And thanks for mentioning brother Warren . His grave site at the Martin Hoppel grave site . I have a lot of information on Warrens passing in Vietnam . If interested I will send it to you . A lot of the info. Can be found in Google under Vietnam wall , and comber metals and ribbons .Much too young to die. My e mail ,dick.Hoppel @gmail .com .     Dick was a wonderful person and he and Marian were two of the dearest friends my mom and dad had while we were growing up. My thoughts and prayers go out to Marian and the family.
