Obituary For Richard M. Yarko, Sr.

Richard M. Yarko, Sr., 81, passed away December 27, 2021 at home. He was born November 20, 1940 in Bakerton, the son of John and Mary (Kutchman) Yarko. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 ½ years, Mary Lee (Farabaugh) Yarko, children Deborah, Lisa, Michael, Richard Jr., Paul Yarko; grandchildren Erica, Tyler, Emma; great grandchildren Connor and Theo; brothers and sister Harry, Tom, Roie, Veronica and Bob and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of John Carroll High School. Richard was a coalminer for 23 years and retired from Specialty Tires of American after 19 years of service. He was a member of the Carrolltown Fire Engine Company 51 and American Legion Post 506. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, multiple sports and spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 146 North Main Street Carrolltown, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. Additional visitation will be held Friday in the Boniface Wimmer Room from 9:00 am until the 10:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown by Rev. Michael Gabler, OSB.     Remembering the summers spent in Carrolltown as a kid. Uncle Dick was always funny and welcoming. The Polish curse words lessons were a highlight! May Lee and Family find comfort in the memories.
