Obituary For Ronald D. Stevens
Ronald D. Stevens, 76, Carrolltown, passed away August 10, 2020 at HAIDA Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 9, 1944 in Spangler the son of Cyril and Elizabeth (Kelly) Stevens. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Jane Marie, brother in infancy Joseph, brother-in-law Barry Burkhart, sister-in- law Melinda Stevens and nephews Adam and Chad Stevens. He is survived by brothers and sisters Mary Anne Burkhart, Carrolltown, Agnes W. (Norm) Ager, Carrolltown, Paul “P.J.” (Bunny) Stevens, Carrolltown, Bernard (Pat Jo) Stevens, Manlius, NY, James F. (Dorothy) Stevens, Carrolltown, Elizabeth Anne “Betsy” (Will) Kirsch, Perry, OH, John F. (Jackie) Stevens, Bakerton, Jane F. (Charles) Strittmatter, New Alexandria, Edward J. (Becky) Stevens, Colver, Patrick J. Stevens, Carrolltown, Mary Frances (Frank) Turk, Kirkland, OH, Vincent J. Stevens, Carrolltown, Camille M. Wendekier, Carrolltown and numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was a graduate of Cambria Heights High School and St. Francis College. He was the proprietor of Ron’s Market in Carrolltown for thirty years. He was also the leader of the very popular dance bands “Misty”, “Rock n Roll” and “219”. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown where he played the violin for special church services. He was a member of Carrolltown American Legion Post 506 and a lifetime member of Carrolltown Fireman’s Club. Friends will be received from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 146 N. Main St. Carrolltown, PA 15722. Funeral Mass 10:00 AM Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown by Rev, Jude W. Brady OSB. Committal, church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to St. Benedict Church, Carrolltown Fire Engine Company or John Carroll Ambulance.
