Obituary For Thomas J. "Rudy" Wentz
Thomas J. “Rudy” Wentz, 75, Carrolltown, passed away May 30, 2022 at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center. He was born June 15, 1946 in Spangler, the son of Rudy and Agnes (Kelly) Wentz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Tim Wentz, sisters Judy Owens and Mary Jo Malloy. He is survived by children: Pam (Tom) Bearer, Carrolltown, Todd (Caron) Wentz, Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren: Katelyn Bogus, Nathan (Reba), Brandon, Ryan Bearer, Reed and Lulu Wentz; brother: Tony (Catherine) Wentz, Indiana and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Cambria Heights High School. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Rudy previously worked at the State Liquor Store and retired from Skills of Central Pa after many years of service and worked at Tri County Transportation following his retirement. He was a member St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, Carrolltown American Legion Post 506, St. Benedict VFW Post 7783, Carrolltown and Bakerton Rod and Gun Clubs and Carrolltown Fire Club. He enjoyed golfing at Cambrian Hills, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, fishing, helping his grandchildren and special needs people. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 146 North Main Street Carrolltown, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. Additional visitation will be held in the Boniface Wimmer Room at St. Benedict Catholic Church Friday from 9:00 am until the 10:00 am Funeral Mass at the church, by Rev. Michael Gabler, OSB. Committal church cemetery. Full military rites will be accorded by local veterans organizations. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at James E.
