Obituary For William N. "Wilbur" Campbell

William “Wilbur” N. Campbell, 73, Carrolltown passed away September 20, 2022 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. He was born October 7, 1948 in Colver, the son of Norman W. and Lillian T. (Nagle) Campbell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Donna Reese. He is survived by his loving wife Janet (Kirkpatrick) Campbell, whom he married June 3, 1972; children: Kelly (Glenn) Walters, N.C; Bill (Ginny) Campbell, Altoona; Carl (Jess) Campbell, Carrolltown; grandchildren Christian, Kaitlyn, Lauren and baby Lilly Mae, Parker, Nikki, Ronnie, Kalib; great grandchildren Tyler, Dylan, Serenity, Dexter; sister Margaret “Mickey” (Lee J.) Hoover; brother in law Reginald Reese and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He worked for Bell Telephone until he was drafted and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, upon his return he worked for Bell Telephone retiring after 32 years of service. Wilbur was an avid member and quartermaster of St. Benedict VFW Post 7783. He was a steward for Carrolltown Fire Hall, former fire police and lifetime member of the Carrolltown Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed playing pool, golf, hunting, shooting and going to camp. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 146 North Main Street Carrolltown. Funeral service will be private. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon and time of fellowship, Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Bakerton Rod and Gun Club.
